How do scans work?

Point your camera at any ingredient label or upload a photo. InciGuard's AI reads every ingredient and checks it against your personal filters, giving you an instant analysis with a safety score and flagged ingredients.

What do I get for free?

Every new user gets 2 free scans with Vegan and Cruelty-Free filters. To unlock advanced filters (allergens, pregnancy safety, microplastics, etc.) and cruelty-free alternatives, purchase a scan credit pack.

Do credits expire?

No. Your purchased scan credits never expire and are synced across your devices via iCloud.

Can I get a refund?

Scan credits are consumable purchases. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support through the Report a Problem page.

I reinstalled the app and lost my credits. What do I do?

Your credits are synced via iCloud. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID, then relaunch the app — your credits should restore automatically. If they don't, contact us and we'll help.

What filters are available?

InciGuard supports 12+ filters: Vegan, Cruelty-Free, Pregnancy Safe, No Microplastics, No Parabens, No Sulfates, Non-Comedogenic, Gluten Free, Nut Free, Fungal Acne Safe, No Endocrine Disruptors, and Custom Allergens.

Is my data private?

Yes. InciGuard stores all scan history locally on your device. We don't collect, store, or share any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

The scan didn't work properly. What should I do?

Make sure the ingredient label is clearly visible and well-lit. Try holding your phone steady or using the "Upload a photo" option instead. If the text is partially cut off, the AI will still analyze what it can see.
